Stamford Woman Wanted For Stealing Purse In Greenwich Taken Into Custody In Norwalk

A 23-year-old woman was nabbed months after allegedly stealing a purse in Greenwich and charged with felony larceny.

Jamie Edwards-Hinton of Stamford was picked up by Norwalk Police on Tuesday and turned over to Greenwich Police who had an active warrant for her arrest for allegedly stealing the purse from a car parked in the lot at the Thru-Way Shopping Center at 13333 East Putnam Ave., on July 30, said Greenwich Police arrest report.

Following the theft, Greenwich Police conducted an investigation and developed Edwards-Hinton as a suspect and a warrant was issued by the court, the report said.

She was later stopped by Norwalk police who were aware of the warrant and held her for extradition to Greenwich.

Edwards-Hinton was released after posting $50,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 30 in Stamford.
